High Tea at the Fairmont

It’s been a few years since I’ve indulged in a respectable High Tea. This time, at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, with my lovely niece, TLC. She was on a week long sojourn and had an extra bed for me so I got invited up to join her for tea, a little hike and fondue at the Chateau (this is one of her, my and my daughter’s happy place).

If you have never been to, or it’s been a long time since your last visit to, the Chateau Lake Louise, pack up and go. Seriously, it is one of the best places on earth.

I have a few photos but honestly, I’m struggling with the new Nikon Mirrorless Z6ii a bit. I had thought I would get used to it using the kit lens first but after this visit I’m over that. I have the adaptor for my D7200 lenses and I’m just going to use them even though they pretty much render the camera a crop frame from its full frame status. Need new lenses and a bigger budget!!

Enough ranting, this is High Tea…

A beautiful mix of vintage china for our tea. I chose the Earl Grey Cream tea and TLC had the Summer blend. I love Earl Grey and ended up buying an ‘Easter’ box for my son as the EG Cream is his favorite. Shhhh, he gets it tomorrow.
Beautiful traditional British High Tea sandwiches that were so so good. The best egg salad I have ever had, not a word of a lie. TLC does not go for salmon so I got doubles on that one! And don’t get me started on the cucumber sandwich. both pretty and delicious!!
I wish I could do a good review of the deserts. We both nibbled a bit of each but were full on all the scones and sandwiches. Being from a family of savory lovers, we did not save room for the sweets. But suffice to say that what we did nibble on, we enjoyed.
The whole shebang, in all its gorgeous glory. And yes, we did enjoy a Prosecco or two.

What a lovely getaway on my way to a getaway (yes, I just said that) in the midst of all this craziness.

After all this eating we took a walk. Lake Louise is still frozen and we walked right down the middle of the lake from the Chateau to the Victoria Glacier. Caught a lifer on the walkway right in front of the lake. You can see my post about that by clicking here.

Packed snow right down the middle of Lake Louise from the Chateau to the Glacier!
