Flashback Friday

I have had these three pictures sitting in my picture files for quite a few years. I didn’t do anything about organizing my photos really until a couple of years ago when I discovered how important it was. Still, these sit… I’ve gotten used to them there. And I do like how they look and what they say about me, I guess. But first, this is Friday, I don’t have a ton of time.

I do want to share a few sites on Fridays that I have been looking at and find interesting over the past week. Something that I picked up from Modern Mrs. Darcy.

I love her book club and reading her site. I have been participating in her reading challenge since 2014 and love it. In fact, this year I will be posting my own reading challenge, probably on facebook for my friends.

Recently, I have become a big fan of birding and taking photos of birds. I will be posting many. This is, in part, due to a new friendship with a young woman, Kelly Mitchell. She has invited me along a few times to photograph birds with her and we were on a Neil Zeller workshop recently to the Yukon. You can see her photography blog here.

Jan Wegener is a great resource for bird photography. I love all of his photos and have been thinking about how I am going to build my own perches for photographing birds. His website, You Tube channel and Instagram account are worth a look if you are at all interested in bird photography.

If I have photography questions, this is usually where I go first (and I usually am on this site at least once a week – so many questions!!). PhotoJosh is a wealth of information. If you need help with anything, I will bet you will find it on Expert Photography.

And now for a bit of colour…

My nieces and I made these beautiful fruit cups for my daughter’s wedding shower. We had so much fun preparing in advance and getting ready for the shower. I think overall the prep was more fun for the three of us. The anticipation of whether Alexis would love what we had done and if our guests would feel like they were honoured as well.

I absolutely LOVE fall farmer’s markets. I am so inspired when I am there. Results are often, as you might guess, wonderful food prepared with local produce with a low environmental footprint.

Just a really pretty Blackberry Mojito. Probably taken with my iPhone and if I recall, somewhere in Victoria.

HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!
