Quilting is my Other Jam

I love photography. I love quilting too. Unfortunately, they are both very time-consuming hobbies. I really should have picked something less intensive for my second. Like crossword puzzles or… what hobby doesn’t take up copious amounts of time??? I can’t even think of one.

Anyway, this is my fourth quilt. My first three were lap-quilts. I made them when I was still learning and will eventually post them somewhere. This is the first one I have made for BD and myself. I am also working on a Christmas gift quilt for my grandson right now so will need to post some photos of his as well – after Christmas!

I did some research on how to photograph quilt projects and this is what I came up with. I listed the styles of photos that I took on each image based on my notes but I admit that I did not capture the most important one – The Full Quilt. I just have nowhere to hang this monster up right now where I could get a full-frame photo of it. Hopefully, though I have captured enough in these photos to showcase my work.

I loved working on this project and it has been around for a couple of years waiting on me! I bought the blocks at a Consumer Quilting Show down in California in January 2018 and did not get at it until this fall. This is my first time using a Longarm Quilter as well. It is a HUGE contraption that holds the entire quilt and you sew as you walk along the width of your quilt. I had a ton of fun with it and even more trying to figure out how to showcase the quilt on this blog.
